Images of birds have been steady in my work for most of my career.  My birds have evolved through the years from once traditional to made up versions.  Currently I am involved in two different series, The Song Birds and The Songsters.

The Song Birds are composed of sheet music to evoke in the viewer the sounds of birds singing in the distance.  Staged in flocks together as in an orchestra, paired as a duet or singular as a soloist they are usually depicted with a sense of romance in tone.

The Songsters are an amalgamation of part bird, part human and part musical instrument.  I have fun putting together these bluesy jazz musicians and enjoy adding a little funk to these characters!
